7th Graders in Post-Modern Culture
So, I'm basing this post off of an expierience again. This past week, my little sister, Hayley, got a cell phone. This was bothering me for a little while because when I was in 7th grade, I was on four praise and worship teams, and involved in more sports and activities in general than she was at this age, but I still could not have one and I have noticed several things that they have softened on. My parents excuse was that times are changing and culture is changing and I said "but that doesn't ma...."then I caught myself. I was always the one who told my bible teachers and youth leaders that culture was changing and alot of styles and things are big now that were never before. So I came to the conclusion that I don't care at all. Times are changing and have been for a while. Change is something that I have a tough time dealing with alot. I hope you got something out of this...but probably not.

But yeah, my parents got easier on the kids as time goes on. My older brother and I had it pretty hard, while the sibs have a cakewalk in comparison. My little brother has an XBox, a PS2, AND a Sega Genesis. We weren't even allowed to rent game consoles when I was growing up, much less play games like Halo and Battlefield. What gives, man.
We've got three kids, from 19 to 25. Each one STILL believes that we treat the other two better. I have given up trying to explain it to them. Now, when any one of them asks why the others get treated so good, I simply say, "Because we love them more than we love you. You didn't know?" Saves time.
bs
Being the oldest of four little brothers I definetely see this happneing all the time, Brad's right my parents DO love the more! Noooooooooooooooooooooo!!!
K, this is great and I could not agree with more. I guess that parents are just gettting tired of treating kids the same all the way around. Well I think that you've got me hooked on reading your posts. So Keep Writing them!!
